There's a new kid on the block ...

I'm always pleased when a new franchise launches and this week, I thought our new franchisee for Stevenage could take the floor and tell you about herself and why she chose to work with us. Enjoy ...
That's me, front left, with my fellow franchisee Sue front right
Hi there! My name is Natalie Cooper and I'm thrilled to say that I am the new owner of Extra Help Stevenage. I would like to share with you a little bit about me and why I wanted to become part of the Extra Help team. I am proud to describe myself as a busy, working mother. I am married and have three growing daughters so I know, all too well, what it's like to be pulled in many different directions.
"Balancing everything can sometimes
be a challenge!"
My career choices have given me a sense of fulfilment and purpose. One of my most gratifying positions involved working with vulnerable, young people with disabilities, in a residential care home.
As a support worker, my role varied, including helping the young people to gain independent life skills. I used to escort them out into the community, would be kind and funny and, of course, be a good listener!
However, the shift work started to impact on my small children so I decided to move into education and trained to become a teaching assistant. I loved the variety that this job gave me and it completely fitted in with my family life. Both roles have been incredibly rewarding and I have gained valuable experience along the way.
Recently, my father became unwell and overnight life changed for my family and I. Sadly my Mother passed away too and this all contributed to my Dad suddenly needing a lot of care and support. Because of what happened to my parents, I understand the practical and emotional challenges this puts on a family and how, sometimes, you don't know which way to turn or who to ask for help.
I always knew that one day, when the kids were a little older and needed me a little less, that I wanted to run my own business. So when I came across the Extra Help franchise, I instantly knew that this was something I wanted to become involved with and that the caring values of the company matched my own.
I shared the idea with family and friends and they agreed that there was a great need for reliable, affordable home help, some of them needed it themselves!
"They also thought that Extra Help would be perfect for me!"
Eagerly, I rang Claire to find out more. She was extremely helpful and enthusiastic and gave me heaps of information. Louise was also on hand to answer any questions I had and nothing was too much trouble for either of them. So I decided to take the plunge and go for it!
I've just returned from an amazing two days training, alongside the lovely Sue Martin, another new franchisee from Extra Help South Manchester. I have been armed with everything I should need to get Extra Help Stevenage up and running.
The training was extremely thorough and covered every aspect of setting up and running the business. Claire and Louise offer on-going help and support and although it's my own business, I feel part of a bigger team.
My aim is to establish a reliable, efficient and friendly team of home helpers, offering a wide range of services, including domestic tasks, cleaning, companionship, transport, gardening, small maintenance work, dog walking, shopping, meal preparation, mother's help and much more.
If you, or someone you know, would benefit from some Extra Help in the Stevenage and surrounding area (postcodes including SG1-SG7 and SG15-SG18), then please do not hesitate to contact Natalie Cooper on 01462 262006 or click here to ping over an email and she'll call you right back.
Great to have you on board Natalie!
Until next time ...
