My Second Extra Help Birthday!
I've loved every minute of it ...

Gosh ... where has the time gone? The last two years have literally flown by and it's been an amazing journey so far. I joined Extra Help in May 2013, initially to run the Plymouth franchise and I've loved every minute of it ...
As you know, Extra Help provides domestic cleaning and home help services, to anyone who needs them and we have many franchises around the UK.
During the last year we have joined the Trading Standards 'Support with Confidence Scheme' which allows us to receive referrals from social services. Extra Help have also become members of Which? Trusted Traders, to provide our clients with extra reassurance.
Under my watchful eye, we now have over 100 clients in Plymouth and South East Cornwall, with 30 home helpers delivering our services. The Plymouth franchise continues to thrive ... we have grown by more than 100% over the last 12 months and now have strong foundations for future development.
"Over the next 12 months Extra Help intends to train all of our home helpers to become Dementia Friends!"
In January 2015 I attended a Dementia Champions training course. This means that I am allowed to deliver the Dementia Friends training. Within our business, we provide support for people living with Dementia and their families. It is important that I gain as much information on this condition as possible, in order to share my knowledge and understanding with others.
As well as running the Plymouth franchise, I also support our Managing Director, Claire Robinson, with the company development and looking after our franchisees. I help train our franchisees and they all know I am always at the other end of the phone if they need me. We held our latest franchisee training in April, at a hotel in Bristol and all of our franchisees who attended are now Dementia Friends.
Extra Help has also become involved with a company called Encouraging Women into Franchising (EWIF). This is a brilliant, not for profit organisation, who support women in the franchise industry. They hold regional meetings, in four areas of the country and Extra Help have agreed to host the meeting for the South-West region.
Back in January I attended the London meeting, along with Claire, so that we had an understanding of what was involved. The meeting was held in a committee room in the Houses of Parliament.
"We had a great time, although nearly caused a security alert by leaving our suitcases behind ... oops!"
Last summer I was a semi-finalist for the Venus Awards 2014. Although I didn't get through to the final, to get down to the last 6 was a real honour. I also completed my NLP Business Practitioner Course in 2014, which was a brilliant experience and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I am really looking forward to the year ahead! Lots of great changes are happening with Extra Help and the future remains super exciting!
Until next time ...
