More and more people want to have a home that is sparkling clean, but doesn't harm the environment. I have created a list of environmentally friendly cleaning tips that are very effective and have the added benefit of being non-toxic ...
Our Extra Help cleaners will always use your products, so if you prefer eco friendly cleaning products then we can accommodate you!
If you are like me, with small children at home, you might not want to have the dangers of toxic chemicals in your cabinets. Why not give the following recipes a try? Some can be made up in advance and left in a spray bottle for yourself or your Extra Help cleaner to use:
Try this for an easy non-toxic furniture polish. Combine 4 tablespoons olive oil and 2 tablespoons lemon juice then apply to wood to bring back shine and add a nice scent.
Bare floor cleaner
To clean ceramic floors use a solution of equal parts vinegar and warm water. Simply mop on then leave to dry.
Soot and smoke smudges can be loosened by rubbing on a paste of water and cream of tartar. Apply the mixture to the stained area, allow to dry then wipe away.
To freshen up surfaces mix together 4 tablespoons baking soda and 500 ml of warm water. Use a sponge to wipe the area clean.
White ring remover
If you have white rings on wood you can use a white tooth paste applied with a clean cloth. Go over it with a second cloth to wipe away the paste and then a third dry clean micro fibre cloth to add shine.
Shine up your copper and brass by using equal parts salt, flour and vinegar. Mix this into a paste, rub onto your metal object then leave it to dry for about an hour. Once it has dried, remove the paste with a dry micro fibre cloth.
Glass and mirrors
For a simple and effective glass cleaner try mixing 4 Tablespoons of lemon juice with one litre of water. This can be squirted onto the glass and then removed with a microfiber cloth.
A non-toxic cleaner for the toilet bowl can be made by sprinkling baking soda around the bowel then adding vinegar.
One of the wonderful things about Extra Help Cleaning, is that we use your products and tools to do the job. This prevents cross contamination and allows us to use whatever products you prefer. If you don't have time to make your own cleaning supplies, you could use a product range like Ecover, which is environmentally friendly and can be found in all leading supermarkets.

I am an enthusiastic entrepreneur, who is highly self-motivated and passionate about helping elderly people remain in their own homes for longer and giving others more time for themselves.
You could say that entrepreneurship runs in my blood. My father owns his own business in America that he built from the ground up and he has been very encouraging of me doing the same.
Through my business Extra Help in Bromley, I can help everyone from busy professionals who need help with house hold tasks such as cleaning, ironing and dog walking, to elderly people who require assistance with shopping, meal preparation and transportation to appointments.
It can be very hard to find good home help, but with my personal interviewing and vetting process I only send the highest quality home helpers and cleaners to you. I guarantee to never place a cleaner or home helper in your home that I wouldn't have in mine.
